The Project

  • Under tight deadlines due to EU Savings Tax Directive that came into force on 1st July 2005
  • Project initiated to migrate from current banking platform to Temenos Globus G13
  • Client business processes required customisation of Globus modules
  • Quality assurance needed to confirm critical business processed worked as specified.
  • Any tests must be reusable to reduce effort of future Globus upgrades

 

The SQS approach

  • SQS worked with the client to define and agree business processes to be tested.
  • Over 1000 test scenarios were created to fully test the business processes
  • Test scripts were automated and controlled via simple Excel® spreadsheets
  • Existing test tools were reused
  • SQS solution did not need specialised technical support
  • The SQS solution also documented tests, making initial implementation and maintenance significantly easier
  • The automated tests were executed and the test suite (test cases, scripts and results) handed over to the client for future use
